This app shows the snow cover for the entire globe at 5kmresolutionfor the last 3 days available. Data are obtained fromremote sensingfrom the NASA MODIS satellite AS SOON AS THEY AREAVAILABLE and theyare displayed on map. Each pixel represents thepercentage of thearea covered by snow.This application is useful for:- Organize trips and hikes in the mountains (from the Alps totheplains to the glaciers)- In the case of skiers and snowboarders to plan yourskiingholidays, or simply to see the status of the snow before goskiingwith ski and snowboard- To check if there is snow on the slopes and at the lifts ornearresorts and to view the status of snow in areas not coveredbyweather reports- In the winter to see if the car trips will cross areas coveredbysnow and mounting snow tires or chains.

Calamity is the app that allows you to report extremeweatherevents, natural events, astronomical phenomena and man-madeevent,and to receive alerts in real time based on the reports sentbyother users in your area or in the rest of the world.
